BWMC Offers Safe Sitter® to Train BabysittersSeptember 08, 2009 GLEN BURNIE, MD - Baltimore Washington Medical Center will be offering Safe Sitter® on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for pre-teens ages 11-13 in the medical center's Dr. Constantine Padussis Conference Center. Safe Sitter® teaches adolescent babysitters how to nurture and guide young children while in their care. Participants will gain confidence with babysitting skills and abilities in caring for young children in emergency and non-emergency situations. During this one-day class, participants will learn about child care essentials, choking child/infant rescue, preventing problem behavior, introduction to first aid and injury management. The fee for the program is $50. Cash or check payment will be accepted. Class size is limited to 16 and pre-registration is required. Participants should plan to bring a bag lunch. Baltimore Washington Medical Center is located at 301 Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie.
